The Oneida County Opioid Task Force is creating an open workgroup of people with real-life experience that will provide critical insights, perspectives, and recommendations to ensure that policies, programs, and community efforts reflect the real needs of those most affected.

Helping those with Substance/Opioid Use Disorder achieve and sustain recovery. Those with real-life experience provide critical insights, perspectives and recommendations to the policies, programs and efforts made to improve the local response to the opioid crisis.
Our Focus
Address the gaps in supportive long-term housing.
- Shift from transitional to sober living by reorienting the housing model around recovery goals.
- Find funding available for recovery residences (sober living housing).
Enhance/Increase Certified Recovery Peer Advocates in Community. Recommendations include:
- Workforce development & training.
- Expand training access.
- Targeted recruitment & outreach.
- Integrate career pathways & sustainability.
- Monitor, track & evaluate outcomes.
- People with lived experience of opioid use.
- Impacted family members or loved ones.
- Individuals in recovery.
- Share your story to improve local responses to the opioid crisis.

About Our Team
The Recovery and Lived Experience Team is a subgroup of Task Force members and members with lived experience that implement recovery specific strategies aimed at helping people with substance/opioid use disorder achieve and sustain themselves on the path of recovery.
